This fascinating book by Thomas Sowell chronicles the development of affirmative action programs in different countries of the world, including India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Nigeria, and the United States. Sowell’s overall take is that the net consequences of affirmative action are negative, but he does a good job going over many of the aspects.
